Guardianship/Conservatorship

woman-gazingA guardian is appointed by the courts to make personal and health care decisions for a person who is incapacitated.

A conservator is appointed by the courts to handle the financial affairs of persons unable to do so themselves. Assets of the person whose finances are under conservatorship must be protected and used only for that person’s benefit.

We not only work with our clients to file the necessary papers with the appropriate court, we also advise them of possible alternatives, such as durable power of attorney, living trusts or other options.
