Focusing on Elder Law, Special Needs Planning, Wills and Trusts.

COVID-19 Update:  At Schmitz, Schmidt & Anderson we are always concerned about the health and safety of our clients and staff.  We take special care because many of our clients are more vulnerable to illness like the COVID-19 virus.  We are open for business providing our services remotely by hosting telephone or video conferences and exchanging information by email, fax and mail. Documents are being signed and acknowledged at a distance.  No matter how we communicate, you will get the advice, documents and information you need.  Please contact us with any questions or concerns you have about how we can work together during this difficult time.

We have been helping seniors, people with disabilities and their families in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and throughout Minnesota make plans and cope with crises for more than two decades.

What We Do

The attorneys at Schmitz, Schmidt & Anderson have experience in estate planning, wills, trusts, including supplemental and special needs trusts, and all aspects of the law affecting seniors (elder law) and those living with disabilities.

Our Focus

We guide clients through the intricacies of elder law and discover needed resources and assistance. We have a licensed social worker on staff, assist with health care decisions and housing options and if necessary, staunchly represent our clients’ interests before government and medical care agencies.

Elder Law Leaders

We pride ourselves on our elderlaw leadership. Jeffrey Schmidt and Mark Anderson have both been named Minnesota Super Lawyers, an honor awarded to the best lawyers in Minnesota as chosen by their peers. Jeffrey Schmidt was also listed among the top 40 estate planning/probate lawyers.

Jeffrey Schmidt is listed in “Best Lawyers in America,” the preeminent referral guide to the legal profession, which is compiled through a peer review among top lawyers in the U.S.
